Do I need a visa or passport to visit Puerto Rico?

Acceptable forms of ID include a driver's license or a photo ID card issued by a U.S. department of motor vehicles. A U.S. passport is also an accepted -- but not necessary -- form of ID. Americans do not need a visa to enter or exit Puerto Rico.

When in doubt, they should contact their local consulate to see what is required of them to get the appropriate visa for their trip. When entering Puerto Rico, your passport must have at least six months of validity remaining.
